I'm frequently in the practice of asking people I work with to distill their ideas and thoughts and intentions to me in as few words as possible. With each of my Red Fred Project Creatives, I ask them to create two lessons that fit into two, tiny, golden badges. They always arise to the challenge and their simplified words astound me.
While I was working on the installation for The Leonardo, the staff asked for my curatorial statement. > GULP < Suddenly, distilling my thoughts into less than 75 words seemed herculean in size. However, I was invigorated by the challenge and decided, in the end, it was a good practice to employ— especially considering how often I require it of others.
